WHAT IS SPIRITUAL JOURNEY BREATHWORK?
For millennia, cultures across the world have known about the healing power of breathing. Not only does it sustain human life, but it can bring about huge healing benefits if used correctly. Spiritual Journey Breathwork is an ancient technique of strong, deep and rapid breathing.
In practicing this Breathwork, the breathing greatly amplifies the flow of the Qi, the life force energy (prana) through the body. At a certain point the amplified Qi starts to 'overflow' and open the Shen, the mental-emotional energy body. When this happens deep healing, profound personal insight, heightened awareness, and positive life transformation are all facilitated.
BENEFITS OF BREATHWORK:
- insight into behaviors and feelings
- reduced anxiety
- reduced stress levels
- heart-felt joy and peace
- deep relaxation
- resolution of emotional issues and wounds
- feeling more in touch with oneself / connected
- greater self-esteem
- improvement in health
- inner peace
- development of spiritual awareness

Cautions
The following situations may warrant caution. If any of these cautions apply to you please inform the facilitator (that's Adam Atman). You can always do a mini-session of 5-10 minutes to test the waters.
Use cautiously in:
Bear in mind that in many of these situations Breathwork is also very useful, so proceed, but consider working up to a full session of fast deep breathing by first utilizing simple deep, full breathing, and then a few mini-sessions. If those go well then you can continue to full sessions.

this is a another good resource for articles about Breathwork

I want to make the information about working with breath and consciousness in the acupuncture treatment session available to as many practitioners as possible, so here are links to various documents and soundfiles from a 2-day workshop I did on the breath last year.
Please be aware that some of the faster deep breathing techniques can be intense and should not be practiced with patients until you have some basis of personal experience in this technique. The workshop serves as an introduction to whet your appetite. If you are interested in further persuing this methodology come to more workshops or access the resources listed in the Word file to find a breathork practitioner in your area.
It is my belief that this technology should be more available to acupuncturists, and in this seminar I endevour to illuminate some of the theoretical background to working with the breath implicit within Traditional Oriental Medicine.
